After talking to many of my friends and family I came up with a list of what they believe drives my life. The list is as follows from top response to lowest.
1. Family/Kids
2. Faith/God/Christ
3. Music
4. Carree
I believe this is a very accurate assessment. My family is what I am focused on in much of what I do. Now the 2nd part of this question is what do I want to be the driving force in my life. I came up with a list of where I believe things to should rank in life.
1. God/Christ
2. Family
3. Country
I want the desire to develop the character of Christ to be the driving force in my life. I know this is something I cannot accomplish on my own. I need to be changed for the inside out. It is something that cannot be done in this lifetime. But I can work on it one step at a time. Loving and serving others is the step I am focusing on now. I pray for this change and to be guided toward this goal.

Question 2
Question 2: Knowing God created m for a purpose, what areas of my personality, background and appearance do I need to accept?
My Answer: I have never been an athletic person. Sure I played sports and I always wanted to be good. Because of not being successful as an athlete I was able to focus on my true talents. These talents have enabled me to do many things. During my time in the Army I developed a physical disability and now can do almost nothing athletic. I have accepted this and I thank God. My situation and the perfect timing enables me to see what is important. I am able to have the time and some financial help to focus on these important things, faith, hope, and love.

The purpose of and why I started this blog
During the past year I have read and learned a lot. I decided as someone who considers himself a writer that I need to write to continue this growth. I am starting this blog by answering the questions presented in the book A Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. For those of you not familiar with the book it is a 40 chapter book with the goal to read one chapter a day. After each day of reading their are some questions to consider.
I plan on posting my response to all 40 questions. I read the book earlier this year then went through it again with my wife. Then over the summer I read it with a small group. I have been thinking about these questions a lot.
Question 1: How can you remind yourself that IT is not about you.
My Answer: Love for my family. When you love you are putting others before yourself. But I must keep in mind that loving someone is not about their behaviour but about my character. Love is more than a feeling. To love someone unconditionally is a choice. I must choose to love no matter how someone acts. As a parent this is easier with my own children. It gets harder with others. But knowing unconditional love is a choice means I can love and show love to everyone. With Gods help I make that choice.
